Career Planning and Choosing a Mentor [Skill Development]After you have set your goals, the next step in career planning is to set about getting the training you need that will get you into the career you have chosen. That usually means education and/or training. For most jobs, you will need to have some type of education and/or training. You should immediately figure out whether or not you need to have a degree to work in the career field you have chosen or whether an internship will give you the experience you need. The Internet has a plethora of information that can help you with choosing a career, so go looking for what it has to offer. You must be able to identify your client s true needs from a mental health perspective and place them in a career that will help keep them sane and happy! Mental health career counseling is a growing business because we live in a stressful society that places a lot of pressure on us on a daily basis. The important part about making an impression at a career planning center is to make an impression that will stick with the professionals there so that when it comes time to fill a job, they will remember your face and your name and recommend you for that job. That s what networking is all about. It s a great decision when you decide to go to a career planning center to jump start your career.
